Nonprofit Fundraising

Breaking into the field of fundraising?

I am preparing to graduate with an MPA and a concentration in nonprofit management. I am interested in working in the field of development by fundraising and volunteer management, but only I have some experience with both. Is there some way for me to enter the field of development without first having to spend years volunteering? I'm not against volunteer, but I really need a job. Any suggestions?

You may consider employment opportunities with companies such as March of Dimes or the American Heart Association. Some organization that depends on your efforts fundraising. Most of the biggies have local offices and hire entry-level so that you will get experience and a paycheck.
