http://danhatcher.com There is a lot about youth soccer that takes a while to learn. The main thing about soccer is that it is a sport that requires one to stay in great physical shape. To be able to play it and to play well, you have to be maintain your physical fitness. One of the benefits that my family has seen by having our children involved in youth soccer is that they have been very fit and healthy through all these years.
Youth soccer runs pretty much all year long. So unlike track or football, there is no such thing as a time to take off, become a couch potato and get "fat." Also, in terms of conditioning and physical fitness, staying lean is "The" way to go if you want to play soccer well. You won’t find 300 lbs defenders on a soccer field… they just wouldn’t last.
