Family Fun Nights at the school are a great way to get parents more involved in their children's school. Parents and children have the opportunity to meet and socialize with other families while participating in a fun activity. Family Fun Nights not only help build a school spirit, they can also be an opportunity to raise some money for your school.
Many schools have one night the whole family each month throughout the school year. Other organizations such as churches and clubs as well as major non-profit such as zoos, museums and aquariums can also hold nights for the whole family for their members.
Some of the activities of your organization nonprofit can try nights for the whole family.
Sales of Ice Cream Social, Bake-offs and Cook
Movie Night with popcorn and other Gourmet
Book fairs, carnivals, holiday Shops, Pet Parades
Star Gazing
Math-a-thons, read-a-thons, Science Nights sports tournaments
Game nights such as trivia games, bingo, cards or puzzles
Dances or dances and dance classes
Talent shows, Karaoke shows
nights crafts, pottery painting
Outdoor activities such as kite flying, sandcastle building, plant flowers
Presentations by experts from the community on topics of interest to families such as
Education Savings, identity theft, cooking, health and safety, etc.
Family Fun Nights are also held other places that can accommodate large groups of people such as bowling alleys, arenas, cinemas, parks and restaurants. On these sites, that such undertakings may to donate a portion of proceeds back to school.
Remember, the focus should be on fun. But there are ways to earn money for the organization, at the same time. Some of the ways to earn money during the nights of the family are:
Hold a raffle for a gift basket or gift certificate. View point during the evening and give the prize to the end.
Sell school spirit items such as t-shirts and bumper stickers.
Collecting recyclables that can earn money for your organization such as ink cartridges computer and cell phones.
Collect Box Tops and labels to box and label it.
Sale Scrip products or market day.
If your organization is trying to sell products such as candy, cookies or pasta, a display set up for parents can buy them.
Make sure you have AA or information on your table to organize fun nights. Provide information to parents about upcoming events and opportunities for fundraising. Ask parents to sign up volunteers to help in the future.
Family Fun nights, so they can not make a large amount of fundraising dollars, will help build relationships between parents and increase their participation in your school or organization. When parents are more involved, they are more likely to want to volunteer to help you with your fund raising efforts.
